Charities
The Potato Race is a fundraising event for charities and local projects. Each year we support at least one national charity and at least one close to home. In addition to the charities listed below, we also make donations to local good causes and projects.
2023
2023 was the 12th year of the current format of the Potato Race. We distributed over £5000 between charities and good causes, including:
Primrose Car Service (transport for cancer patients in Bedfordshire to Addenbrookes hospital)
2022
2022 was the 11th year of the current format of the Potato Race. We distributed over £6000 (including £1000 matched funding from Barclays Bank) between charities and good causes, including:

2019
2019 was the 10th year of the current format of the Potato Race. We distributed £6000 between charities and good causes, including:

The 2018 race raised over £7500 for charities and good causes, including:
Macmillan Cancer Support (through Brave The Shave)
In addition to the charities listed above, the race contributed towards the "There But Not There" sculpture to mark the WW1 centenary at Flitton Church
2017
The 2017 race raised over £6500 for charities and good causes, including:
Alzheimer's Society (supported by The Great Flittish Weight Off)
In addition to the charities listed above, two picnic benches have been installed on the recreation ground

2010-2012
The current race format was revived in 2010. The 2011 race raised over £1000 and the 2012 race raised over £1500. The money was donated to local projects including Flitton Church and the Church Hall.
