Flitton Potato Race

Raising money for charities, good causes and local projects.
Sunday 2nd June 2024

Thank you!

The 2024 race was one of our biggest and best yet!

You can see the race results ⏱️ or check out photos from the day 📸 (kindly taken by Ampthill & District Camera Club).

We’ll be back soon to update you with our total raised for our brilliant charities. Follow us on Facebook and Instagram for updates.

🥔 About the race

Run, walk or stagger a mile carrying a sack of spuds to raise money for charities, local projects and good causes!

There are race categories for all ages and depending on the category runners carry 20, 10, 5 or 2kg. You can either run the whole mile yourself or form a relay team of four to run a quarter of a mile each. All entrants go home with a commemorative medal. For children and toddlers there are Spud & Spoon races.

Our quirky village tradition goes back over 100 years and is a great day out for the whole family.

The event is attended by hundreds of runners and their families every year. Find out more about advertising your business at the event or volunteering to help make it possible.

To date we have donated over £49,000 to charities, good causes and local projects.

Every year we support a mixture of national, regional and local charities and good causes. In 2023 we shared £5000 between the Primrose Car Service (transport for cancer patients in Bedfordshire to Addenbrookes hospital), My Name'5 Doddie Foundation, Mind BLMK and NOAH Enterprise. See our full list of donations from previous years for more information.

To continue, the committee needs your support. See how you can help.
