🥔 About the race
Run, walk or stagger a mile carrying a sack of spuds to raise money for charities, local projects and good causes!
There are race categories for all ages and depending on the category runners carry 20, 10, 5 or 2kg. You can run the whole mile yourself or form a relay team of four. We also have fun Spud & Spoon races for children aged 9 and under.
Our quirky village tradition goes back over 100 years and is a great day out for the whole family.
We have donated over £60,000
to charities, good causes and local projects.
In 2025 the race committee donated £6,000 to local charities.
The race attracts hundreds of local people,
from families to fitness fanatics
Last year over 450 runners crossed the finish line, cheered on by their families and friends. There are lots of opportunities to promote your business, club or organisation, starting from just £30.
